About Geraldine Knapp
Geraldine has served as the Councillor for The Gap Ward for the last 11 years. She is Chairman of the Families and Community Services Committee. Since her election as Councillor, she has been extensively involved with community groups. Geraldine established Save Our Waterways Now (SOWN) to engage the community in the protection of the environment and through SOWN has actively engaged school children in the local community.
Geraldine has been a resident of The Gap Ward for over 37 years and has contributed greatly to the community as a member of numerous groups including SOWN and Meals and Wheels. Geraldine is the Patron of the Rose Lovers Society, The Gap Leisure Club and Norths Hockey Club. Prior to moving to The Gap, Geraldine lived in Melbourne, where she trained at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music before moving on to teach music to secondary school students.
