Artists wanted for Art Force

20 June, 2007

Councillor Geraldine Knapp would like to encourage all artists to enter the Artforce public art project that gives Brisbane residents the opportunity to turn the city's traffic signal boxes (TSBs) into works of art. Artforce fosters community pride and enhances Brisbane's transport corridors.

Anyone can apply to paint a TSB. Families, professional or first time artists, school groups, kids or elders can get involved in Artforce. Artforce aims to keep all TSBs in Brisbane painted with quality artwork.

Artforce is a Brisbane City Council initiative managed by Queensland Urban Ecology.  For further information regarding all details please follow go to www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/artforce

Two co-located traffic signal box artworks are at the intersection of Waterworks and Stewart Roads at the Ashgrove Shops.  The art-works are by Anna-Claudette Ferguson titled "My Ashgrove".  To view her work view "Local Articles May 9".  Anna-Claudette will be painting more artworks on Waterworks Road Ashgrove.
